From August 1-6, 2022 the Move For Life Team completed a 1,600kms relay across Ontario.  The number 1,600 is very important as it represents the number of individuals waiting for an organ transplant in the province of Ontario.

The relay was completed by walking, running, biking, and swimming for 24 hours a day until our goal was reached.  The route was divided into 10 sections, with each section tackled by a dedicated team of amazing volunteers.  Through their efforts, these ambitious volunteers have raised awareness to the long wait list in Ontario, and fundraised $80,000 in support of the Multi-Organ Transplant Department at London Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Mayur Brahmania (Board Member and Hepatologist) and his associate Dr. Anton Skaro (Transplant Surgeon), have committed to increasing the available pool of viable organs to London Health Sciences Center’s Liver Transplant Unit by introducing the proven ‘Abdominal Region Perfusion’ (ARP) practice. The funds raised from this incredible event will be donated to the ARP program and help LHSC be the first health care facility in Canada to implement this practice. See more about our cause and ARP here.
